This position reports to: Local Division Sales Manager, Sweden.

Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will lead the development and execution of ABB's growth strategy for the Chemicals and Life Sciences segments within the assigned market. As a strategic industry leader, you will drive market expansion, strengthen key customer relationships, and position ABB as a trusted partner for innovative automation, electrification, and digital solutions.

Working closely with sales, marketing, and business unit teams across regions, you will identify new business opportunities, influence customers' investment decisions, and accelerate profitable growth. You will play a key role in shaping ABB's market presence, building industry partnerships, and fostering collaboration across the organization to deliver exceptional customer value.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Design, develop and drive the strategy for long term profitable growth of Chemicals and Life Sciences.
  • Promote ABB in Chemicals and Life Sciences with customers.
  • Develop relationships and partnerships with key industry players.
  • Provide thought leadership at Chemicals and Life Sciences events.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on content creation, messaging, events and communication.
  • Identify and screen a robust prospects pipeline.
  • Develop a Chemicals and Life Sciences value proposition.
  • Deliver the Chemicals and Life Sciences annual order budget.
  • Define scope and industry application requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Industrial Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience within Chemicals, Life Sciences, Energy Industries, or a related industrial sector.
  • Proven track record in business development, sales, account management, or market development, ideally within industrial solutions, automation, digitalization, or engineering services.
  • Strong understanding of customer business drivers, investment cycles, and capital projects within the Chemicals and/or Life Sciences industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute growth strategies, identify new business opportunities, and convert them into measurable results.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and lead across functions in a global matrix organization without direct authority.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
